Each person could have a verb and could describe what it means in the book, and list 5 examples of how else to use it. Have all the animals with their certain verbs and relate how we could use the verbs to describe different objects as well. This book would really enhance their verb vocabulary. This book would be great when learning about verbs and how verbs can be used to describe so many different activities. I loved that this book used a lot of onomatopoeias which is a great way to describe animals in nature. I loved how it showed each individual animal and gave it a highlight. The turtles looked like clippings from another thing and the colors didn't go very well. The illustrations were not the best, there was a lot going on. It was fun to see all the animals around the pond and their different intuitions. Then, wind comes and the turtles start running away. Water striders slide." There is much noise around them as well. Each animal has a different action verb with them. Animals such as butterflies, spiders, squirrels, chipmunks, etc, are minding their own business and being active. There is much movement around them through the trees, ponds, forests, rocks. There are turtles sitting still as stones.
